Equipped with a master's in exercise physiology, Colleen Gulick is a top contender in next year's fixed-gear racing season. This year alone she has won two national championships and five medals overall, including a historical silver medal win in the Pan American track cycling championships in Mexico earlier this month. Gulick and her teammate Christina birch are the first ever U.S. women to win a medal in this race.
